Kindle Your Social Life --- We're Making Reading Cool Again

I feel like a lost soul on a sea of potential fans and I don't know how to reach them.  I know they're out there but it's like I'm invisible.  I am a traditional mystery author with the first two books of my Claire Gulliver Mystery Series now up on Kindle.  In addition I have a wonderful cookbook, with family memoirs called Gayle's Legacy now up on Kindle.  It's a mystery to me how to reach potential fans with that information.

The mysteries are very appealing to fans of that genre and even enjoyed by other readers when they find them.  The cookbook is treasured by those who know of it for the favorite family recipes, the detail simple directions and the charming stories which intice the readers into the kitchen to try their hand with cooking.

It seems like it should be so simple.  Many of the owners of Kindles would like these books.  I the author want them to enjoy them.  There must be simple ways to make this happen.  Does anyone out there have the secret?

Please share, or at least send hints.  I will be ever so grateful for your in put.  Thanks

Hi,

We are also looking to promote my company's books (Puzux - interactive crossword puzzles and Sudoku) and would love to hear your ideas how to reach a large Kindle audience.

Thanks!

Do you know how Kindle owners browse for books they may want to buy? That seems like a good place to start. Also I am trying to act as a guest blogger to as many blog spots as possible but that doesn't necessarily mean I'm reaching Kindle owners??

Any other ideas?

Hi Gayle,

I promote my books in several ways... I have a blog, website, and also by writing articles that I submit to 'article submission' sites like Ezine, Isnare, Goarticles, etc.

I have five books on the Kindle and in paperback. My two best sellers are "Free Internet" and "How To Publish Anything On Amazon's Kindle."

By writing articles and submitting them to article submission websites, you can drive a lot of traffic to your books. Here's an example of an article I just wrote to promote my "FREE Internet" book. Opps, can't post links here... that's too bad, it would sure make things easier.

The article submission websites handicap us in the same way. We are only suppose to put links to our books and website in the resources link, but you can link them in the body of the article too, if you're creative about it. One way I do it, is to mention in the article that you can find several books about "FREE Internet" by logging onto Amazon and typing "FREE Internet" into their search engine. This does bring up dozens of books, but my Kindle and paperback books are always the first two listed! I do this in all my articles for all my books. Here's the title of my last article to give you an idea of what I'm talking about.

"They Were Advertising FREE Internet - So I Took Them Up On It!" This article is about how to get FREE Internet service... and of course, it lead directly to my FREE Internet book on Amazon!

By choosing the right search words, your book(s) will always be at the top of Amazon's list. Tricky, but it works!

Article writing is also a great way to drive traffic to your website. It's important to have your website listing on the first page of a Google, Yahoo, or Bing search engine. Most people don't look much past the first three pages..

If you type "Randy Benjamin" into a Google search engine, you'll see that I'm not only on page one, I'm in the first position. In fact, I usually have almost all of the returns in the first 5 to 7 pages! This is because of my article writing campaign. My articles are being picked up by hundreds of website managers, news groups, blogs, op-in lists, etc... each time I have an article published, it's picked up by the search engines, driving new readers to my site, increasing my 'page ranking' and helping me to sell more books. I write a new article every other day.

As you know, writing the book is the easy (fun) part. If you're self-publishing, promoting is the hard part. Blogs also help, and taking an active interest in Kindle groups like this will bring attention to your books as well.

Hope this has given you some ideas.

Randy

Randy, Thanks so much for your response. You've given me a lot of information and a reality check. Obviously there is no simple, easy way so I'd better just get to work on it if I want to succeed. Thanks again.
