Kindle Your Social Life --- We're Making Reading Cool Again

Does anyone have any information on international fonts support for kindle? From what I know currently it supports only English. Please correct me if I am wrong.

Appreciate any insight into this.

The Kindle only supports the ASCII and upper-ASCII range of characters (decimal values 255 and below). It does not support anything else in Unicode currently due to the font that was chosen as the default display font for the device.

All the best!

The recent update to the Kindle firmware (version1.2) now allows Greek text. I wrote a blog post about that change on my website:

I don't think it supports asain languages since I ordered a scholarly critique of a Buddhist sutra. i believe the languages it was in were tibetan sanskrit and pali. It was really annoying.

That looks like a good step in the right direction ;-)

I will keep my fingers crossed and hope to see some books in Indian Languages

Thank you for the update.
