This book has a little bit of everything: Murder, local corruption, sex, bad guys. I learned a lot about antique carousels. Not too much, just enough to keep me from getting bored. It brought back good childhood memories of my own carousel rides. The beginning was a little confusing until I got to know the characters, and then the book really took off! I liked the main character and I was rooting for him in difficult times. I didn't guess the ending so it was suspenseful right up until the end, which was tied up nicely. So many books feel like the ending was forced.
