Hi, folks - You should use the RESET or RESTART function, which is detailed in the user's guide. Slide the power button to the right and hold it for 15-20 seconds. Then release it and go away for a few minutes. When you're back it should have star…

Manar, I wasn't able to reply to your most recent note as it had no 'Reply' button below your note. So am replying here. Re the place that takes your pkgs, that address worked for the Kindle, so you may be able to use that as your official Amazon a…

Manar I meant that when you're changing your setup at Amazon -- *After* you buy your gift certificates, then reset your main info, this time saying that your residence is whatever one you used to receive your Kindle. I think they check your address…

Manar, i hope it does work well. I read that's others do it, so let us know if it does!

Manar, They use the address on the current credit card you have listed with them. If your credit card is validated with the address where you are it won't work. What people do is buy gift certificates. From what I read there, these have no interna…

Manar, when you clicked on "buy this item" - what were you buying? A Kindle ? There's no background for you that I could find in this thread. First, you need a U.S. credit card with a U.S. address to buy a Kindle and also, usually, for ebooks, UNLE…

Andrys replied to GailR's discussion 'QWERTY Keyboards' in the group Kindle Owners
Well, 'Webbing' on the Kindle may not be the "main purpose" but it is a MAIN purpose for others and myself or I would ot be paying the $360, and the fact is that currently it's free for that wireless and is just a HUGE reason for some of us who use…

Andrys replied to GailR's discussion 'QWERTY Keyboards' in the group Kindle Owners
You'd search with a virtual keyboard that pops up instead? Those things are also universally hated, especially on the blackberry. Not that many iPod users have used their device for any serious book reading except for the ones who say they are Kind…

About Me
My overriding non-book interests are music and photography. When reading, I like history and biographies probably because I don't know enough about what's happened and why, though I don't know that reading has helped there :-)
Book(s) I'm Currently Reading
I've too many on the Kindle already, thinking of it as a library, and I like skipping around, thanks to the automatic bookmarks.
Favourite Books, Book Genres and Favourite Authors
A book that had a big impact on me was Agee's "Let Us Praise Famous Men"

Hobbyist activity: I enjoy playing chamber music (piano) plus early music (recorders), and learning more about photography.

I'm glad someone appreciates the "oh say can you see" photo! When we stopped at the lookout point on our way up to Hurricane Ridge ( in Olympic National Park) I had to laugh, because we were completely in the clouds. Fortunately, once we got up top, it was clear, and the view was tremendous!
Not a day goes by that I don't give thanks for being able to live in such a beautiful area! Not everyone can be so lucky as to live on an island.
