I was recently in the hospital and read 8 books on Kindle. I also have about 100 songs in it which I use Bose noise reduction headphones with. I'm into a tear jerker now called Crossroads Cafe. I'm from North Carolina, the scene of the book so I speak Southern.
Santa didn't bring me a Kindle for Christmas this year. And I thought I was such a good boy all year, too. Guess I'll have to try harder in 2010. :-)
But I am working on my second novel (Ash: Return of the Beast) which I hope to have released on Kindle by the end of the year. I've already designed the cover for the paperback edition which I hope to have out by summer of next year.
The Kindle edition of my first novel, The Ezekiel Code, is doing great. I just noticed today's stats:
#23 in Kindle Store > Kindle Books > Fiction > Horror > Occult
#57 in Books > Literature & Fiction > Genre Fiction > Horror > Occult
Are you an author? I noticed Randy Benjamin's comment so I was just curious because I couldn't find anything regarding any books you may have written.
In any case, thanks for the friend invite and I hope your little corner of the world is snug and warm. So many areas of the country are having such miserably cold weather.
Best regards from the rainy, gray Pacific Northwest. :-)
I see you're a Kindle author. I've been distributing books on the Kindle since August of 2008. I decided around Christmas that I really need to promote them so I'm working on that now.
I'm amazed that one of my titles has sold right at 1,000 copies (will go over this month) with zero promotion. Don't know how anyone finds it. Sales have doubled the last two months. (Kindle only, no change on paperbacks) I was wondering if any of your books have done the same. I have 4 titles on the Kindle, but only one of them has done this. A new book just came out a few weeks ago so it's not doing much yet.
Also, I'm getting ready to release my books on SmashWords so I can get them into some other e-book readers... Have you worked with them?
Sorry for all the questions... great to meet a fellow Kindle author. Hope to meet others on here as well...
Hello Vivian. Thanks for the invite! I've had my Kindle for almost a year, but I'm new the Kindle forums. I'm hoping to learn more about publishing. Do you Kindle? What's your favorite book so far? Have you used the text-to-speech feature? I have. The voice is kind of mechanical, but I find it oddly soothing. I haven't used that feature much lately... since I figured out how to use my iPod! Don't you LOVE technology? Best regards, Kathy
I'm very new to Kindle both as a owner/reader and as a published author so I appreciate your invitation to be friends. I'm hoping to learn more about using it, selecting the books I put on it and promoting my two mysteries and cookbook I have published on Kindle so far. I look forward to our relationship. Thanks
Thanks for the invitation to become friends. I'm new enough to the site that I'm not sure how to accept your unvitation. Looked everywhere, but can't find a spot to accept.
Hope you're more tech savvy than I.
