About Me
my name's abhi and i've lived all over the world - some of my fav cities are -

1. Montreal (a beautiful city, beautiful women too).
2. Vancouver (1.25 years - love it, although I missed london girls terribly)
3. Minneapolis (a week - friendliest people ever)
4. Orlando (9 months)
5. Vegas (12 days)
6. Rochester ( multiple times)
7. Seattle (4 years)
8. Rapid city, sd (a weekend + best hosts ever)
9. Delhi (11 years - mostly great)
10. London (1 year - definitely visit or live for half a year, my favorite city)
11. Somewhere in nepal where pigs walk on the street (3 months - they have the best coca cola ever)
12. Nainital (india nepal border) - 5 years. amazing place - lots of rain, cold, sorta like london + seattle + vancouver.
13. Nashik (near bombay) - great weather. rains a lot (seems to be a pattern) + loads of sunshine. best grapes. my first best friend. my first good friend who was a girl.

i've loved books since i was a child and the amount i read varies from multiple books a week to spells of weeks without books.

i just moved to vancouver, and its great because people say hi on the street, and all the trees are changing colour and leaves are falling. it also rains a lot. if i hadn't lived in seattle and london immediately before this i might have been affected by it.

if you're into sports, i play soccer and support arsenal, the mariners, pacers, and timberwolves (now boston because of KG).

Been reading a lot of China Meiville lately and Dean Koontz. It sucks that China M. doesn't have as many books out as Mr. Koontz. If he did my like would be full of infinite happiness. Actually, if he could write one a week.

Newspaper Death Watch List

I wanted to start noting down newspapers that are dead or dying out -

1) Seattle PI - If it's not sold by March 10th, will be closed down. After 146 years.

2) Rocky Mountain News - closing down today - Feb 28th, 2009. After 150 years.

We really are looking at the death of an entire industry.

Also, according to Yahoo News, Four owners of 33 U.S. daily newspapers have… Continue

Video Review as compared to a normal online review

I was looking at Brandon Carroll's video review (link is on the main page) and some thing struck me - a video review just adds a lot of dimensions -

* a better idea of who the reviewer is.

* actually seeing the product, and seeing the various things talked about.

and a lot of other things.

its really late here in London so i'm going to go back to sleep - however, I really can't stop thinking that Amazon should let users add a ton of video reviews. especially frank… Continue

My book, The Last Rose: A True Celebration of Eternal Life, is an account of the first year of my life after I lost my wife and daughter in the Baltimore water taxi accident in March 2004.  It is a powerful and  inspirational work about the power of love. It received a Next Generation Indie Book Award for Best Inspirational Book.  You can learn more at my website www.thelastrose.com

The Last Rose is now available as a Kindle Book for only $1.99.

Aha! I found you here. I got the invitation to submit to Featured Offers which said to reply . . . and here I am. I have 6 books under $3, here's the info on 2 of them:

Edge of Escape by Debra Chapoton $2.99 - Emotionally impaired yet clever, Eddie obsesses over the most popular girl. He drugs her, abducts her and locks her away. She escapes, but that is part of his plan as he pretends to be her knight in shining armor. Will she accept his special devotion or reject his fragile love? Stalking gets a sympathetic twist in this story of fixation and fear.

The Secret in the Hidden Cave by Debra Chapoton $2.99 – Book 1 in the Big Pine Lodge adventure series for kids ages 8 – 12. Missy and Kevin explore the dark caves beneath the lake and find surprises, danger and secrets. Can they solve the riddles in time to save the lodge?

Hello, and thanks for the kind invitation to submit to your Featured Offers
section. Unfortunately, the email reply bounces. Here's info on my book:

Finding Juliet is a contemporary Shakespeare in Love with a four-star rating
and notices including "one of the best romances that I've read in a very
long time," "a book to enjoy, to savor, and to dream upon," and a
"breathtaking love story" in which "the descriptions of Verona and the
Italian countryside will have you ready to pack your suitcase." $2.99

Hello Abhi,
I'd like to take advantage of the KF Featured Offers section. My novel "The Hangman's Companion" is sold on Amazon Kindle books at $2.99. It currently has four five-star reviews. It's link is : http://www.amazon.com/Hangmans-Companion-McGill-Novel-ebook/dp/B0042P5DFG/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&m=AG56TWVU5XWC2&s=digital-text&qid=1296881635&sr=1-1
THC is in the mystery-thriller genre. It's the second book in my JIm McGill — the first private eye to live in the White House — series. The first book in the series "The President's Henchman," also $2.99 has many five-star reviews. But "The Hangman's Companion" is the one I'm pushing now.
Thanks for the offer.
