New Amazon Kindle Design...Possibly

The word on the street is that Amazon is coming out with a new design for the kindle. I am not sure how much is true and how much is false. Some places are reporting that it is going to have a sleeker design while others are discussing more functionality issues that will be changed. I am not sure what to think but I can guess that both will occur if they know what they are doing. My guess would be the following:

First there needs to be something done about the size of the kindle. The… Continue

Is My Kindle worth it, aka my first blog...

Hello Everyone and Welcome to my first Blog.

To put everyones mind to ease, Yes the Kindle is worth it.. now on to my reasoning.

I am a avid and voracious reader, I enjoy Science Fiction most but will and have read just about anything. I learned to read at a very early age. In first grade it made my teacher mad that I considered Dick and Jane as to easy. To this day I remember Mrs. Long (my first grade teacher), rather unfondly because of her attitude.

A Star Gem in the Rough is a sci-fi romance available at redrosepublishing.com

Switching Over...to the KINDLE

INITIATION: Switching to the Kindle

Gradually, I find that I no longer desire paper-made books.

I prefer to read on my KINDLE.

But trust me, it's been gradual.

I'm also noticing that the level of "entertainment quality" of the books one initially reads

decides how quickly and to what degree Kindle owners become "into" their Kindles.

I’ve had a Kindle for 6 months and the problem for me was finding outstanding books to get… Continue

having a book published - joys and stresses

Well, my first book has just been released, and although it has been very exciting, it's also a huge relief to have it done!

I thought that writing the book was work enough, but going through the publishing process has really opened my eyes to the amount of effort that goes into releasing a book, both on the part of the author and the publisher.

I've never read anything so thoroughly as I had to my own book - revising and editing takes considerable time and effort. I had to go over… Continue

How I Became a FlyBaby

As a woman who has been diagnosed with fibromyalgia, severe osteoarthritis in knee and hips and a sleep disorder just this side of narcolepsy, I used to do ok with all my housekeeping chores.

Things were not perfect, but adequate. Eighteen months ago I joined the ranks of the unemployed and thankfully landed a temporary job a week later. For 4 months straight (Aug-Nov ‘07) I worked an average of 82 hours a week. I was working on a big project that was time sensitive; the work needed… Continue
