I got it today

I received the Kindle today. They shipped it to the wrong address but I took a long lunch and went home to pick it up. For my trouble I got free shipping. I was so quick to plug it in, breaks are short at the shop. First after getting familiar with the controls (very intuitive) I set to the task of putting the user manuals I have in pdf to the kindle. Return from Hospital

Thanks to everyone who posted good wishes to me bsed on my daughter's (Comrade Wolf) blog. It really cheered me up and helped me realize what a great community the Kindle Social Network Group is.

The Kindle has been a GOD send to me. My illness is very bad, but Much of the pain and upset is eased by the joys that come from reading a good book and being associated with a wonderful community.

Thank you all for being so kind to me.

Making Audio Books

I've been experimenting a bit with audio books.

I found that if you drop an .MP3 file into the "Audible" subdirectory, the Kindle will treat it as an audio book. It actually scans through the whole subdirectory tree and adds each MP3 file as an individual "book" in the main screen.

One problem is that MP3 files don't have chapters.

Kindle web browser

I keep trying to use the Kindle to check my e-mail and get current news headlines. I have found that my Yahoo mail accounts don't work too well (screen size etc.) but my google account shows up fine. Signing into google sems to take several tries - I think I have to pay more attention to what specific steps I take.
