Interview! Interview! Interview!

Lately, I've been getting into the interview thing. You'd be surprised how

many bloggers are looking for material and are willing to give an interview

with nothing in return. Of course, whenever I'm interviewed I promote it

heavily throughout the web which drives traffic to their blog. It's a symbiotic

partnership. Though I'm not sure how many sales these interviews generate, it

does give me lots of exposure. And I have gotten some nice feedback by…

Selling books in today’s shrinking marketplace

It used to be that to become a published author (besides just writing a really good book) you had to also spend countless hours writing and addressing query letters, waiting patiently for agent’s responses (months), and then miracle upon miracles, you get signed to a LEGITIMATE agency. That’s only the beginning. Now, it’s up to the agent to make that one-in-a-hundred sale as opposed to the one-in-a-million chance an un-agented author had. And again, miracle upon miracles, it…

Pioneer Women in the Age of Technology

Do you ever wonder what your grandmother or great grandmother would have to say about the internet and blogs and Facebook and Twitter and all the fun tools we have at our fingertips? Well, today my grandmothers made it into cyberspace. Of course, they did it virtually, as most things are done these days.

Today my pioneer family saga:  Kathryn, Days of Struggle and Triumph; Elizabeth, Days of Loss and Hope; and Stephanie, Days of turmoil and…

Gathered by Virgins - part 2.

By the 1880’s tea drinking became an upper class ritual. Ladies gathering around a silver tea pot with elegant porcelain cups became symbols of good taste and refinement and the preparation of tea was an art in itself. A popular household manual from the 1880’s ‘Enquire With Upon Everything’ instructs on how…

Is There a Stigma Attached to Reading Romance?

Grace visits the Book Wenches and asks:

Is there a stigma attached to reading romance?

 I think so.

It is only since becoming a published author of historical romance that I ‘came out’ and admitted to reading the genre. The strange thing is that since I went public, people I consider perfectly normal, intelligent, fulfilled and responsible, who I never previously suspected of being fellow addicts, also came out and said;…

“An exciting new book is out, Crossroads by Steven Nedelton. I recommend it highly, in fact I bought it. It is a mind bending thriller that deals with espionage, murder, revenge and mayhem. If you have ever ridden on a roller coaster, you had better keep your hands in the car with this one. This will keep you on the edge of your seat but at times there is NO edge. Mind control takes over leaving you grasping and gasping at this Ian Holm style story. It is, however, much more than that. You… Continue

should romance reading be encouraged?

Some say that romance novels are a bit too raunchy for the young teen reader. I personally believe they are suited for an adult audience, but romance novels usually have their established limits. The young teen novel, Are you there god, it's me margaret, was actually more raunchy than some romance novels. So i believe it is debatable. what do you think?

Women in espionage, visit CROSSROADS, a first-rate thrill ride for thriller readers...

Among its many colorful characters, Crossroads portrays a very brave US agent Katherine and also several, very negative spy characters--a mislead young French woman, Benoit, who became a Soviet mole/French traitor, and the Soviet expert murderess Dr. Tatiana. First Consumer Review of Skookum Man

This book is set in a Hudson’s Bay Company outpost, the Pacific Northwest, circa 1810.

What happens? … men and women from divergent worlds meet in an Arden-like forest. In those strange woods the reader is introduced to: wood-wise ingénues, confused men, matronly women, clever animals, and assorted asses and fools. The introductions are lovingly conducted by a benign narrative presence.

That’s a happy beginning- but as the story progresses…. The benign presence becomes somewhat… Continue

Online Interview - Maureen A. Miller

As my romantic suspense novel, WIDOW'S TALE gains great strides in the market, it was a privilege to conduct an online interview with Stacey Cochran. I would like to share that interview so that people can become familiar with some of the 'behind the scenes' information about my romantic suspense works and the Kindle industry in general.

With the weather topping the 90's, sometimes it's nice to kick back and read a novel that's set on the cliffs of Maine in the heart of a frigid… Continue
