Kindle Your Social Life --- We're Making Reading Cool Again

The Gutenberg project (http://www.gutenberg.org ) has a ery large selection of free e-books and free text files. I have gotten many e-books for my Kindle from them by downloading my selection to my laptop and then mailing it as an attachment to my kindle account (my_id@kindle.com). A few minutes later it is transfered automatically to my Kindle (there may be a 10 cent charge). Full instructions are in the kindle users guide and at the on-help section of the official Kindle site.

I buy books from the Kindle store and I am happy with the price, quality, and service. I find, though, that Gutenberg lets me get books written in the late 19h and early 20th century. I especially enjoy English mysteries.

The Kindle has made 'free e-book' sites like Gutenberg really usable for me. Reading on the Kindle is a lot better than reading on a PC screen or downloading and printing to paper.

www.feedbooks.com is even easier to use than Project Gutenberg because they are formatted for each device. For Kindle, use *.prc. Downloading a file is as easy as finding it in their catalog on the Kindle and clicking the link. I have read over 20 Edgar Rice Burroughs doing this. Al
