TOR has a new website, and to celebrate, they are re-offerring all of the free ebooks and wallpapers they distributed to list subscribers over the last four months. You can access likns to all the goodies here: , but only until July 27.

As a new Kindle owner, I am on the lookout for books to download. (see previous post!) I would like to share a couple of websites I have found that have books available in a format suitable for your kindle.
Baen Free library
Feedbooks
Gutenburg
The first is geared towards Sci-Fi, and also has published (for a price) books as well. The prices seem reasonable.
The second is somewhat bare-bones, but has a good selection of the classics.
The third, Gutenburg is a Wiki format and has a great selection of books, primary older works and the classics.

I find manybooks.net one of the best places to find easy-to-download files for the Kindle. I think it is mirror-site for the Gutenberg Project.

Just found another free book for Kindle from Amazon... "The Surgeon" by Tess Gerritsen

I have signed up to receive their emails, and have been pleased with the results. I get notices of the free books available, as well as free music available. I generally don't go for the 'newsletter' emails from commercial outfits because they generally just want to sell, but Amazon's has been nice because they offer the freebies as well.

How to Win Friends and Influence People (with Right justified Link-enabled Table of Contents for easy Searching) (ASIN: (B001E37F96) currently only $1.25 - Kindle Edition. Not sure how long Amazon will be selling this book at such a great price. The paperback edition has a list price of between $10-$14. I'll snap this bookup before the price goes up.

Also the version I listed above, is the best formatted version for the Kindle.

Here's a tip for finding book bargains on Amazon for your Kindle: go to the page for Kindle books, and sort by price;lowest to highest. You will almost always find a few freebies, and a large number of books for less than $1.00!
